The launch of Quayside Mall in twentyfive.7, Kota Kemuning drew strong crowds today, underscoring the enduring potential of retail spaces catering for post-lockdown trends in the new norm with optimal social distancing guidelines and SOPs in place. Set to be the new centre of gravity for retail and leisure in Klang Valley’s southern growth corridor, developer Gamuda Land has kicked off the opening while ringing in year-end festivities with a vibrant line-up of events and activities.

Mindfully crafted with seamlessly connected indoor and outdoor retail outlets across four storeys, including Malaysia’s first organic vertical farming facility within a mall, the waterfront mall features spacious, airy layouts with abundant natural lighting and ventilation, fostering positive social environments in compliance with ongoing Covid-19 safety guidelines.

In step with the retail revolution

“Though planned well in advance of the Covid-19 outbreak, Quayside Mall’s design is optimally positioned in Malaysia’s changing retail landscape, favouring open spaces with connections to nature, enhanced air quality and fresh tenant mixes,” said Herbie Tan, Director of Leasing, Retail and Malls, Gamuda Land.

“This highlights Gamuda Land’s forward-looking approach and mindful master planning across its developments, ensuring the vibrancy and sustainability of the mall, township and surrounding communities even amid changing retail and property landscapes in the new norm.”

Quayside Mall beckons visitors with a spacious, multi-storey central atrium housing two larger-than-life flamingo statues. The atrium is emblematic of the mall’s design, bringing its playful mascot front and centre while creating interactive encounter spaces for visitors and the public. The flamingo’s distinct plumage also lends its hues to Quayside Mall’s escalators, which catch the eye with striking pink tones, enhancing the vibrant outlook of the mall.
Quayside Mall’s ample outdoor elements and waterfront outlets cater for post-lockdown trends favouring open retail spaces.

The uniqueness of Quayside Mall includes a waterfront F&B space featuring a panoramic view of the promenade at the pet-friendly central park with an Aurora Rhythms musical fountain display in the central lake greeting visitors at 8pm daily. F&B brands including Rong Cuisine, Nutz n Boltz, Starbucks, Uncle Don's and Union Artisan Coffee are some of the delectable fares found along this wing.

“As a developer of townships and connected communities, we focus on bringing people together through the medium of places and spaces. This means that we studied current retail trends favouring essentials operators and eateries, and ensured that Quayside Mall addresses them as a curator of community spaces,” said Tan.

“This is emphasised with our tenant mix of more than 25 F&B operators, along with anchor tenants such as a Jaya Grocer and Harvey Norman catering for the everyday needs of twentyfive.7 residents and visitors. In addition, we took special care to craft areas and opportunities to foster experiential engagement for visitors throughout the mall, positioning it as a leisure hub for the township and surrounding communities.”

Open elements such as The Alleyway, a covered community space with a Busker’s Corner for street performances, as well as the Market Square, an open area which is home to the mall’s vertical farm facility, all serve to drive visitor engagement and traffic, giving the mall its own unique rhythm and pulse.

Yuletide cheer and year-end revels

To celebrate the mall’s opening, Quayside Mall’s captivating line-up includes fun, interactive activities, such as a Count the Flamingos contest inviting visitors to find and count sculptures of its flamboyant mascot dotted around Quayside Mall and surrounding public spaces, with Jaya Grocer vouchers worth RM500 up for grabs.

“A symbol of balance, community and collaboration, the flamingo calls to mind twentyfive.7’s serendipitous location amid the soothing landscapes of Kuala Lumpur’s southern growth corridor, away from the bustle of the city. Its bright orange-pink plumage evokes the cosmopolitan lifestyles offered by the township, with style and savvy in equal measure,” said Herbie.

In the spirit of the season, Gamuda Land is also rewarding purchasers with gift redemption offers. GL Friends who spend RM257 and above in up to two combined same-day receipts will receive an exclusive goody bag from 19 December to 3 January. On top of that, GL Friends and GL Acquaint members can also redeem additional door gifts in the first three days of the launch, or while stocks last.

twentyfive.7 itself comprises 257 acres in Klang Valley’s southern growth corridor, with ready access to numerous routes including the Shah Alam and South Klang Valley Expressways, as well as the North-South Expressway Central Link and Kemuning-Shah Alam Highway. The mall’s timely opening will serve the needs of Lucent Residence residents who have just received the keys to their units.
