When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.
The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.
More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets and 4 kiosks, customers now have 23 food court outlets, 6 kiosks and 7 restaurants to choose from, to name a few; Shucked Oyster and Seafood Bar, Ahh-Yum by Kampong Kravers, Warung Prima, JJ Chilli Pan Mee, KAGURA Tokyo Chicken Ramen, Eatomo, I Love Yoo! and many more.
Hygiene wise, one cannot go wrong eating at Signatures. It was the first Malaysian Food court to be HACCP certified in 2005. HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point and it is a management system to ensure food safety all the way from the analysis and control of biological, chemical and physical hazards, to the handling of raw material production, procurement, down to the manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product. And in recognition of the new norm, Suria consulted the Health Ministry to optimise seating arrangement to ensure both comfort and physical distancing requirements.
The icing on the cake is that the revamped food court is equipped with 5G infrastructure, as well as sporting sockets under the fixed seats for the benefit of patrons to this outstanding food court located on Level 2 of Suria KLCC.
More reason to dine at Signatures is the fact that this is one of the rare eateries that come with a premium view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline and KLCC’s signature outdoor fountain, which guarantees a calming view be it day or night.
“A lot of thought and effort went into improving Signatures to what it is now. Nothing has been left to chance, from the standard operating procedures to ensure hygiene, all the way to aesthetics capable of satisfying new norms for a long time.
Naturally, we are proud and overjoyed to unveil this truly world-class food court to all,” said Andrew Brien, Chief Executive Officer of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd.
