unifi ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP TO FURTHER EXPAND unifi TRAVEL PASS IN SUPPORT OF VISIT MALAYSIA 2020


In its effort to offer a seamless travel experience for all inbound travellers to Malaysia and as part of its brand promised to deliver #khabarbaik or good news, unifi today announces its partnership to further promote Visit Malaysia 2020 by teaming up with strategic partners; Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), KL Tower; together with online sales partners; Klook and Fave.

This partnership is a continuation from the recent collaboration inked in January between Tourism Malaysia and TM where TM becomes the Strategic Telecommunication Partner for the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign. As part of this collaboration, TM through unifi has introduced a special unifi Mobile plan called unifi Travel Pass – a unique prepaid SIM catered for foreign tourists to Malaysia with unlimited access to high-speed internet that now comes with additional perks and treats that will certainly elevate their overall travel experience.

The partnership agreement was signed on behalf of TM by the Head of Marketing, Commercial, Lai Shu Wei, together with Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), Sherene Azli; Chief Executive Officer of Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower), Datuk Rozlan Mohamed; Marketing Lead for Klook in Malaysia, Emily Tan; and Managing Director of Fave, Datuk Jake Abdullah.

Remarking on unifi Travel Pass’ comprehensive offer, Lai Shu Wei said, “It goes without saying that internet connectivity is a powerful ally for the travel industry. By allowing them unencumbered, high-quality access to the internet, we are enabling seamless connectivity for foreign tourists to market Malaysia as a top destination for travel, in line with our role towards realising Malaysia’s aspirations as a Digital Nation. Our unique offer is further enhanced through the collaboration with our esteemed partners to provide an even greater traveling experience for our customers.”

unifi Travel Pass comes with two (2) validity period options: 7 Days Travel Pass at RM30 and 15 Days Travel Pass at RM60, both with unlimited high-speed data (4G LTE or 3G), unlimited access to more than 8,000 WiFi hotspots nationwide via wifi@unifi and unlimited entertainment throughout their stay via the playTV@unifi app which offers digital streams of LIVE and on demand channels from local as well as international channels. The SIM also comes preloaded with RM5 worth of airtime for them to make outgoing calls at RM0.20 per minute or send text messages at RM0.10 per SMS.

As a prime tourist destination located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, KL Tower serves as another strategic collection point location for unifi Travel Pass, especially for tourists that might have missed the opportunity to collect their prepaid SIM at the airport. unifi is working very closely with Tourism Malaysia to include more iconic Malaysian landmarks as collection points in the near future. To give better value to their overall travel experience, Klook, a world-leading travel activities and services booking platform, have packaged other essential travel services to complement unifi Travel Pass such as KLIA Ekspres and Touch ‘n Go Card, allowing travellers to navigate Kuala Lumpur with ease. Selected hospital partners will also have to option to offer unifi Travel Pass to their customers. Sushi-making with World Sushi Cup Champions by Norwegian Seafood Council
