Caltex Brings Fuel That Powered A World Record to Malaysians

Malaysians can now experience the fuel that powered a world record at their neighbourhood Caltex service station. Brought to you by Chevron Malaysia Limited, Caltex with Techron® recently powered a 28-year-old car up a 1,000m ascent in record time, setting a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for the ‘Fastest Ascent of Doi Chang Mountain Road by Car’.

Revealed through the ‘Record Rides’ two-part series on National Geographic, with Caltex as the sole presenting partner, the attempt was part of Caltex’s Fuel Power Challenge. It saw Jamaican-Chinese professional race car driver, Natasha Chang, and television host, KC Montero, compete against the clock to reach the summit of Doi Chang Mountain in record time. At the end, it was Natasha who achieved the coveted title with 6 minutes 52.692 seconds, and arguably the craziest, record-breaking driving experience in Asia.

“Caltex with Techron® is specially formulated to clean and protect engines. The GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title achievement helps demonstrate how a clean engine powered by Techron® can function at its most optimum, which includes delivering maximum power to your wheels. This is the same fuel that our customers can experience at their neighbourhood Caltex stations to power their everyday drive,” said Greg Engeler, Product Engineering Manager for Caltex.

To perform at maximised power, an engine requires unrestricted air and fuel delivery which cannot happen when deposits are on the intake valves and port fuel injectors. Techron®’s unique chemistry is proven to remove and protect an engine from deposits in these critical areas. Caltex with Techron® also contains Clean & Glide Technology™, which further helps to reduce friction, helping maximise power.

For Dato’ Hans Isaac, who is the Celebrity Partner of Caltex Malaysia, the record-breaking feat further demonstrates how Caltex with Techron® fuels can power an engine towards achieving an extraordinary journey, “When I heard about Caltex’s success at achieving the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title, I couldn’t help but feel proud to be associated with a global brand like Caltex, because they know that nothing extraordinary is ever easy. Difficult is an invitation to be great, and Caltex does difficult.”

“As someone who thrives on challenging myself to go further, this feat achieved by Caltex inspired me to push the limits of Caltex with Techron® myself, on Malaysian roads. That’s how I’ve decided to go on a challenge to further prove the efficiency of Caltex with Techron®. With only one tank of this innovative fuel, my friend Man, and I, will attempt to drive up Cameron Highlands in our national car, the 1985 Proton Saga. I guess you will have to stay tuned to find out if we succeed or not,” he added.

Also present at the event was Natasha Chang, also known as “Chiney Dolly” among Instagram followers, who was in the thick of the successful GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® attempt. “I knew from the get-go that this journey was going to be filled with challenges, however, I was determined to validate the notion that fuel is one of the most important aspects of a car thus, the right fuel can only maximise your vehicle’s potential. With Caltex with Techron®, the performance of the car we built from scratch for the attempt on a seemingly impossible timeline only got better which resulted in us breaking new ground in fuel innovation,” she said.

REVAMPED SURIA KLCC SIGNATURES FOOD COURT FULLY REOPENS WITH ATTRACTIVE PROMOTIONS

When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.  More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets and 4 kiosks,
