MR. DOLLAR opens 50th store at Sunway Pyramid

MR. DOLLAR, a subsidiary of MR D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad, today announced the opening of its 50th store at Sunway Pyramid, Selangor, bringing the total number of its stores in the country to 50.

Malaysians from all walks of life can shop for their favourite food brands such as Maggi, Oreo and Coca Cola, to name a few. The brand currently offers a wide range of products across 10 categories — chocolates & sweets; snacks & biscuits; cooking ingredients; groceries; drinks; bakery products; chilled & frozen food; household; hardware; and stationery, toys & sports — all priced at either RM2 or RM5.

Getting more Malaysians to benefit from reasonably-priced household essentials is what MR. DOLLAR strives to achieve, explained Andy Chin, Vice President of Marketing, MR D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad, while announcing the new store opening. “The whole aim of MR. DOLLAR is to make affordable F&B and household products more accessible to more people. By fixing prices at "Always RM2 or RM5", we ensure people can shop confidently and within their means, while still being assured of the quality of the products they buy,” said Chin.

“The MR. DOLLAR brand name has resonated very well with Malaysians since the launch of our first store in Cheras in August 2020, and today, just a little over a year later, we are opening our 50th store. Just like MR D.I.Y., MR. DOLLAR is designed to help Malaysians stretch their ringgit further and to gain the best value-for-money with every purchase. It is yet another way for us to deliver our ‘Always Low Prices' promise to more Malaysians. We look forward to continuously growing our store network and making our stores more accessible to Malaysians,” added Chin.

In conjunction with the grand opening of the new store in Sunway Pyramid, MR. DOLLAR is offering an exciting “You Shop, We Pay!” promotion between November 5 – 7, 2021, during which the retailer will fully sponsor the purchases of every 50th customer.  When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business.
