Rehda Selangor Home Ownership Campaign- Central i-City Shah Alam

Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) 2019 is an initiative announced by the Minister of Finance, YB Mr. Lim Guan Eng, during the tabling of Budget 2019 last November where Malaysia house- buyers will be exempted from stamp duties for purchase of residential units made between January to December 2019.

In conjunction with that Rehda Selangor has organized Home Ownership Campaign- Malaysia Property Expo 2019 from Nov 14- Nov 17 at Central i-City Mall Shah Alam to supoort and raise awareness about the campaign.. The official opening was atttended by Guest of Honour Yang Berhormat Puam Haniza Binti Talha, Selangor Exco of Housing and Urban Living together with Mr. Loo Chee Yang, Organizing Chairman of Mapex Shah Alam/ Klang and Tuan Zulkifli Garib, Chairman of Rehda Selangor.

The theme for this campaign is "Quality Home For a Better Living" aligned with the vision of the Selangor state government as housing is a necessity and basic need for the public for a better and more comfortable future. Hence the responsible of the government and developers to provide affordable homes which is a serious problem affecting the rakyat. There are 11 developers participating which is SP Setia, PKNS, Glomas Berhad, Ecoworld, Worldwide Holdings Berhad, Sunsuria Berhad, Putrajaya Holdings, Sin Hee Yang Property Management Sdn Bhd, Symphony Union Suites Sdn Bhd, Amverton Berhad and Newfields Land together with RHB Bank.This campaign tageting 10,000 visitors throughout the 4 days exhibitions.

According to Y.B Puan Haniza Binti Mohamed Talha, Rumah Selangorku is an initiative by the Selangor State government together with developers to ensure each family has a quality comfortable home and is safe to reside. Rumah Selangorku is an affordable homes which gives comfort in term of size, design and community based.

With regards to Budget Selangor 2020, there are 6,379 Rumah Selangorku will be built in 19 housing locations. 112, 852 units from 262 Rumah Selangorku's project already completed which reflects the commitment of the Selangor state government to provide afforable homes to help the rakyat to own their own home. 

Accoring to Zulkifli Garib, Rehda Selangor Chairman, 11,000 units already being sold under the HOC campaign and terrace house is the preferred choice. 3,848 units sold are price below RM500,000. Rehda Selangor will support Federal government suggestion of reducing the minimum price of foreign buyer owned property for apartment and condominium from RM1 million to RM600,000. While for other type of properties is under the jurisdiction of the state government where minimum price is RM2 million and above for Zone 1 and 2. 

With regards to Market Report Q2 2019 by Valuation and Property Services Department only 260 units or 6.1% apartment or condominium which price at RM600,000 and above is not sold hence there is a minium impact on the purchase of ths type of property by foreign buyers.

According to Mr. Loo Chee Yang, through this campaign a house buyer will be able to save at least RM60, 025 for home costing RM500,000 as developers offering discount at least 10%, free stamp duty, free MOT and other incentives. This Home Ownership Campaign will end on Dec 31, 2019 hence the public should take advantage on this.

Sushi-making with World Sushi Cup Champions by Norwegian Seafood Council

World Sushi Cup champions Sky Tai and Leon Yap led media participants in a hands-on sushi-making class organised by the Norwegian Seafood Council at KDU University recently.
