SELANGOR’S ENTICING TOURISM APPEALS ON EXHIBIT AT THE 16th CHINA-ASEAN EXPO (CAEXPO 2019)


Tourism Selangor is proud to showcase the wonders of the Selangor State at the 16th Edition of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) 2019 taking place in Nanning, China from the 20th to 24th of September, 2019. The State’s Tourism Board fully supports the aspiration of Tourism Malaysia at Federal level especially on the Visit Malaysia Year 2020 campaign.

As such, Tourism Selangor actively participates in various tourism exhibitions around the globe especially in the China market. Exhibitions such as CAEXPO 2019 provide a broader spectrum of opportunities and exposure onto the tourism products and attractions of the State of Selangor. The State’s participation in CAEXPO 2019 falls as one of the approaches to increase international tourist arrivals reflected from the Chinese and ASEAN tourism markets. It shall be made evident by introducing new products and services as well as continuing showcasing existing tourism appeals of the State, with core focus in in cultural, heritage, retail and leisure tourism.

CAEXPO 2019 carves special highlights as Y.B Datuk Ignatius Darell Leiking, Minister of International Trade and Industry, Malaysia and Y.B Datuk Abdul Rashid bin Asari, Chairman of Standing Committees for Culture and Tourism, Malay Tradition and Heritage of the Selangor State are on-board the delegation from Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Selangor.

What is more compelling, Tourism Selangor’s Pavilion- City Of Charm made its first debut at the Expo allowing local media, travel agencies, bloggers and travel enthusiasts to have a closer and more detailed input especially on participating tourism operators; Air Asia, Gamuda GM Klang Sdn. Bhd, Skymirror Tour & Travel Sdn. Bhd, and Sunflower Holidays Sdn. Bhd. The Pavilion boasts a thorough outlook on the State’s tourism prospect especially with the involvement of Kuala Selangor District Council, Hulu Selangor District Council and Sepang Municipal Council in this year’s CAEXPO.

Tourism Selangor aims to leverage in extreme sports tourism and family-oriented travels by the introduction of new tourism products to cater to the market trends of nature and cultural-based adventures for ASEAN and Chinese tourists. As such, the Tourism Selangor’s delegates for CAEXPO 2019 are all set to undergo and execute Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) sessions to network and promote, alongside other approaches such as arranged media interviews, product briefings and seminars to showcase the best of Selangor.

The Tourism Boards upholds the vision to strengthen the positioning of the State of Selangor in the ASEAN market, as well as continuing the positive pace in drawing the number of tourist arrivals from China to the State. The first quarter of 2019 recorded a significant 8.80 percent increase compared to that of last year’s whereby almost 842,000 China tourists have experienced the vibrant and unforgettable Selangor. The figure is expected to keep growing especially with Tourism Selangor’s active participation in global tourism conventions and exhibitions such as CAEXPO 2019.

Sushi-making with World Sushi Cup Champions by Norwegian Seafood Council

World Sushi Cup champions Sky Tai and Leon Yap led media participants in a hands-on sushi-making class organised by the Norwegian Seafood Council at KDU University recently.
