The opening ceremony was joined by David Hsu, Director, Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, Dato’ Kenny Goh, Secretary General of Badminton Academy Malaysia, and a special appearance by the national players Goh Jin Wei and Cheam June Wei.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Let’s Badminton, David Hsu said, “Our theme this year is Taiwan Excellence, Everyday Excellence! In line with that, we are excited and we look forward to sharing our products with Malaysians in hopes that we all live every day in nothing but excellence.” Hsu also explained that badminton was chosen as the focus for this showcase because it is one of the most popular sports in both Malaysia and Taiwan-- “One of the main activities that bonds Malaysians and Taiwanese is badminton; it is a passion that we share.”

The mission to encourage everyday excellence also extends to social responsibility, where the opening ceremony also invited special guests from Heavenly Child Home (Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Heavenly), a children’s’ shelter for underprivileged kids that offers a complete education. The children were excited and received badminton rackets and shuttlecocks as a gift and a chance to learn badminton skills from national players Goh Jin Wei and Cheam June Wei.

“We would like to thank Taiwan Excellence for thinking of us and donating rackets and shuttlecocks to the home. We are honoured and grateful to be the recipients of their altruism. The children are all very excited to have new badminton gear and we hope that this will encourage them to be more active in sports, especially badminton,” said Kanagendren of Heavenly Child Home.

The event features sports brands such as VICTOR, the top badminton brand in the world and the official sponsor of the Malaysia badminton national team, U.CR+ compression sportswear and ATUNAS outdoor and travel products. While the event focuses mainly on sports products, there are other aspects of healthy living products truly worth a try, such as EleClean water disinfectants, which use water to produce a disinfectant to kill bacteria and viruses via an oxidizing method, and TUMÄ clean air ventilation, which features ultra-silent operation and super energy savings. Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or are looking for products to support your active lifestyle, you can definitely find some creative ideas here!

In addition, visitors will also enjoy stage performances by local artist Joey Leong, along with freebies and many more exciting activities. Let’s Badminton with Taiwan Excellence is now ongoing from 20-22 September 2019 at the Oval Concourse 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 10am to 10pm. Admission is FREE for all three days. Following the showcase this weekend, the Taiwan Excellence Sports Month in Malaysia will continue next week at the KL Marathon at PWTC.

REVAMPED SURIA KLCC SIGNATURES FOOD COURT FULLY REOPENS WITH ATTRACTIVE PROMOTIONS

When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.  More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets and 4 kiosks,
