THE MUSIC RUN RETURNS TO KL SPORTS CITY THIS NOVEMBER WITH CIMB AS PRESENTING PARTNER

It is official - The Music Run will make its much anticipated return to Kuala Lumpur for the sixth consecutive year this November, with CIMB Group (“CIMB” or “the Group”) as its new Presenting Partner. The Music Run by CIMB will take place on 23 November 2019 at the National Stadium at KL Sports City.
Dubbed ‘Asia’s fittest party’, The Music Run by CIMB connects urbanites with two of the world’s favourite pastimes – music and running. Combining these two elements, the event takes the form of a 5-kilometre (5K) and 10-kilometre (10K) running race with more than 100 speakers lining the entire Sound Track circuit, culminating in what is regarded as the world’s best finish line party. With a giant stage showcasing local bands, top DJs and the renowned Live The Beat show, this high-octane event provides a one-of-a-kind, safe, healthy and enjoyable experience for all participants. An important facet of this year’s event is the push towards sustainability and eco-awareness, making Asia’s fittest party arguably also the most eco-friendly!

Mohamed Adam Wee Abdullah, Group Chief Marketing Officer, CIMB Group enthused, “We are excited to partner with The Music Run this year and look forward to offering a super-fun experience to all participants, especially CIMB customers. This carbon-neutral mass participation event ties in well with CIMB’s focus on championing sustainability principles to ensure the well-being of our planet and future generations. So, what better way to have a healthy day out than knowing we’re part of a carbon-neutral event while also having fun running a music-filled route throughout?”

“There’s certainly a lot to look forward to in 2019 as we introduce more elements to make The Music Run by CIMB bigger, faster and better, whilst at the same time making a concerted effort to lead the industry in event sustainability practices. Besides the already unique nature of The Music Run by CIMB, we’re taking an active stance to reduce single use plastic usage, are endeavouring to be Malaysia’s first carbon-neutral mass-participation event and will be implementing an industry-leading recycling and waste-management programme,” says Sam Middlehurst, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Music Run.

“We’re excited to welcome CIMB as the event’s Presenting Partner, as we share a vision to create a more sustainable future whilst inspiring young Malaysians to lead more active lifestyles and live today better than yesterday,” said Middlehurst.

The Music Run by CIMB originated in Malaysia and held its inaugural run in Kuala Lumpur in 2014 to a crowd of 6,000 and has since been experienced by more than 250,000 participants across 35 events in 13 countries. Last year’s event saw a sell-out crowd of 20,000 participants pack the National Stadium at KL Sports City. With exciting changes fuelled by the partnership with CIMB, this year’s event is poised to be another sell out and the biggest and best yet.

Early Bird Tickets for The Music Run by CIMB will launch on 11 July 2019 at 12pm with prices starting from RM85. Those who wish to purchase tickets can do so by visiting the event’s official website at www.themusicrun.com.my.

Besides having the unrivalled opportunity of participating in a standout event, participants of The Music Run by CIMB will receive a limited edition finisher medal and a Run Pack containing a high-quality runner’s t-shirt, a re-usable drawstring bag replete with a car sticker, temporary tattoos and quality goodies from brand partners. This year, cash and partner-supplied prizes are also up for grabs for the top five finishers in each timed race category, with an additional cash bonus for the Malaysian National with the best finish time in each timed race category.

REVAMPED SURIA KLCC SIGNATURES FOOD COURT FULLY REOPENS WITH ATTRACTIVE PROMOTIONS

When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.  More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets and 4 kiosks,
