HELPING TO MAKE THE PLANET MORE BEAUTIFUL, ONE SHOWER AT A TIME WITH LOVE BEAUTY AND PLANET

There’s a new personal care brand in town dedicated to creating amazing products that won’t harm the earth. The brainchild of a group of like-minded people who believe that looking good and doing good should go hand-in-hand, Love Beauty Planet started with one simple goal – “whatever we do must be good for beauty and give a little love to the planet”.

Love Beauty and Planet, Unilever’s latest beauty personal care brand launch, wants to show that you can be kind to the earth while still catering to your beauty needs to make a little difference towards a happier, less wasteful planet, one shower at a time. Born from the desire of creating a brand that would take care of both people and the planet, this revolutionary new beauty brand strongly believes that big changes start from something small.

The sustainable beauty brand leaves nothing to chance – from its ingredients sourcing to the use of recyclable packaging and vegan formulas based on at least 98% natural substance, Love Beauty and Planet gives careful attention to every step of its production chain. Housed in vibrantly-packaged bottles made from 100% recycled plastic and is 100% recyclable (except for its caps), the brand aims to help consumers give a little bit of love back to the planet without compromising on beauty boosting results, one shower at a time.
“Sustainable and eco-friendly have become such a buzzword amongst Malaysians and we want to be part of our consumers’ journey towards shifting towards a greener lifestyle. While we believe that it’s not easy to save the planet and look amazing, we’re sure going to try. With Love Beauty and Planet, we want to encourage #smallactsoflove as we believe there are lots of little ways we can help restore balance and beauty on the plane without breaking a sweat,” said Vincent Chong, Marketing Director, Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings Sdn. Bhd.

Our journey of #smallactsoflove
Taking into consideration its holistic approach in its entire product life cycle and beyond, it is no surprise that the beauty brand is committed to making sustainable living commonplace and has weighed its efforts and passion with this one goal in mind. Understanding that while it is not possible to change the world overnight, it is not a Herculean task to be kind to the earth without compromising on your beauty needs.

“We have never been more aware of the need to be more responsible in the choices we make, even for something as simple as the personal care brand we choose to use. Simple acts like taking shorter showers. reducing waste, or even recycling plays a part in restoring balance and beauty on the planet. We hope Love Beauty and Planet, with its 100% recycled bottles can be the small act of love that becomes a stepping stone to a more eco-conscious lifestyle, starting with reducing the use of new plastic and subsequently plastic wastage,” said Nuning Wahyuningsih, Senior Marketing Manager, Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings Sdn. Bhd.

Plastic wastage in Malaysia
The amount of plastic waste generated daily in Malaysia is alarming – being ranked as the eighth-worst country in the world for plastic waste and with a recycling rate of just 17.5% as a country seem to point towards a lackadaisical approach to how much plastic is being discarded.

Plastic pollution is a longstanding issue and a serious environmental threat to land and marine wildlife, amongst other things. Composed of major toxic pollutants, it has the potential to cause great harm to the environment in the form of air, water and land pollution. With plastic pollution being one of the main contributors to the growing decline of some of Malaysia’s beloved wildlife, Love Beauty and Planet is partnering with Malaysian Nature Society and to extend its #smallactsoflove to help the environment.

“Malaysia is ranked 12th among 17 megadiverse countries in the world, with more than 100,000 species of animal life. Sadly, many of our beloved animals are being threatened due to a multitude of factors, including plastic pollution and this is no different for the 1,500 Malayan Tapirs left in Malaysia. Chemicals released by plastic pollution in water sources are one of the main contributors to the decline of these distinctive black-and-white beauties as they are harmful to the hormonal development of the tapirs, which consequently reduces their birth rate on top of a gestation period of 13 months,” said I.S. Shanmugaraj, Executive Director, Malaysian Nature Society.

Commenting further, Nuning said, “We hope that Love Beauty and Planet’s partnership with Malaysian Nature Society will help create further awareness on how much plastic affects not only the Tapirs but the environment as well. With everyone carrying out a small act of love to help reduce plastic, it would have a big impact in helping to conserve these gentle creatures.”

For every purchase of any Love Beauty and Planet products, the brand will donate RM1 towards the conservation of Tapirs.

Love, Beauty and Planet is available for purchase in Guardian, Watsons, Caring and AEON Wellness pharmacies nationwide as well as on e-commerce sites:

REVAMPED SURIA KLCC SIGNATURES FOOD COURT FULLY REOPENS WITH ATTRACTIVE PROMOTIONS

When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.  More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets and 4 kiosks,
