12 Discovered Years: Firefly Airlines Celebrates its People, Discovery & Return to Singapore in Style

There have been 2 big presents so far this year for Firefly Airlines. The first being the return to Singapore via Seletar Airport and the second is revealing the new seats for passengers to experience a comfortable journey while enjoying the specially designed and crafted in-flight ambient. To celebrate these joyous moments, a celebration event was held at the Skypark Regional Aviation Centre hangar and saw more than 600 guests and people behind the business success consisting of Firefly employees, travel agents, partners, corporate clients, frequent flyers and members of the media. Also present were former Firefly CEOs Dato’ Eddy Leong and Ignatius Ong together with the current CEO Philip See.
Celebrating its 12 years in the industry via anniversary theme called “12 Discovered Years”, the invited guests witnessed the journey and memories of the airline for the last 12 years. This includes the long-service awards to the employees who have been with the airline since it started and the senior management who have worked hard to sustain and improve the business of the airline. Firefly will not be where it is now without the supports from its loyal passengers, partners, travel agents and corporate clients. Special appreciation awards were presented to these segments to thank them for their valued loyalty, contribution and involvement in the business.

“Any business has its ups and downs and Firefly is not exempted, in this case, the airline’s key route, Singapore. The suspension caused various impacts to the business but the team did not give up as we believe nothing is impossible”, said CEO of Firefly Airlines, Philip See.

Having Singapore back in the business via Seletar Airport, the airline also celebrated this victory and the smooth transition from Changi to Seletar.  The team thanked all contributing parties who made it happen.

The exclusive event also saw in depth the direction of the airline for 2019; Discovery – See It, Hear It, Sense It, Feel It, Touch It, Taste It’. Firefly wants every passenger to experience every sense that a human has to enjoy in the journey and make it well worth. See It connects to places, things and people, Hear It connects to local entertainment, what’s in, what’s happening and what’s new, Sense It ropes to the beach, food, garden, park, arts and atmosphere, Feel It binds to the journey, enjoyment, satisfaction and fulfilment, Touch It links to arts, batik, shopping items, museums and Taste It chains to local food and beverage. To complement the Discovery presentation, guests were played a video of how the new seat covers were produced to entice the guests to discover the new ambient with the latest leather look laminated covers. As the event showcased an aircraft with its new interior and all guests were welcomed to go onboard to have a first-hand experience of the great comfort, many guests were seen taking turns to be seated on the new seats.

To discover the undiscovered, it takes people to explore and share the many things we have in Malaysia. Discovery Troopers was announced and the expected duties plus

rewards of each Trooper were shared. With this official announcement, recruitment has started. As everything starts from home, the guests witnessed the very first batch of Troopers

who are indeed Firefly staff themselves. Stay-tuned to the recruitment posts on social media and website.

Themed ‘Futuristic’, the event saw an innovative, energetic and visually stunning LED performances with uplifting music and drum beats that wooed the guests. There were lucky draw sessions for both employees and guests, best dressed male and female, recognition to travel agents, corporate clients and frequent flyers and 180 degrees photobooth for all to enjoy.

REVAMPED SURIA KLCC SIGNATURES FOOD COURT FULLY REOPENS WITH ATTRACTIVE PROMOTIONS

When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.  More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets and 4 kiosks,
