Young Aspiring Footballers Treated to Cadbury’s Football Clinic with Michael Owen

Mondelez International (Malaysia), the producer of most loved brands, recently leveraged on Cadbury’s partnership with the English Premier League to conduct a special football coaching session with FC’s celebrity, Michael Owen. Some 50 young aspiring footballers from SK Seksyen 18 and SK Bandar Sunway, had a magnificent time picking up valuable skills from the Premier League legend. These schools are part of Mondelez’s ongoing flagship social-responsibility programme, Joy Schools.

Being held for the second time, the international partnership creates a platform for Mondelez to share the joy with millions of football fans from all walks of life. The young and enthusiastic footballers were exposed to various skills besides being trained on other areas, which will help in the areas of problem solving and decision making on the field.

James Kane, Managing Director, Mondelez International (Malaysia) said, “Football is more than just a game, it teaches lessons that the players carry with them long after they've hung up their football boots. Hence, in line with our passion to empower young children to take positive steps towards their overall well-being and having a good balance between school and play, we are putting into practice, one of Joy Schools’ key pillars, Active Play.

“We are providing these students with an opportunity to hone their skills in football while promoting values through sports and education, teaching the children about commitment, responsibility and teamwork, all while having fun. We aim to promote physical engagement that will contribute to the development of social and cognitive skill,” added James Kane. Michael Owen was in Malaysia as part of the launch of Cadbury F.C., a tie up between Cadbury and the Premier League.

Commenting at the event, Michael Owen said, “The lessons I learned from football are priceless, hence I am very delighted to be able to share my knowledge and expertise with these incredible players. Every football game is a story - it is an epic, a tragedy, a comedy, all at once.”

“Throughout my career, I have always tried to be the best I can be by training hard and setting a positive example to those around me and I believe that it’s important to instil a love for the game and pass it on to the younger generation. These students exuded high level of enthusiasm, were energized, focussed and disciplined throughout the session. It is good to see such commitment and seriousness from these young kids and I believe if they continue to have these attributes they will be able to excel in future, he added.”

REVAMPED SURIA KLCC SIGNATURES FOOD COURT FULLY REOPENS WITH ATTRACTIVE PROMOTIONS

When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.  More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets and 4 kiosks,
