WATSONS PARTNERS WITH SUU BALM IN LAUNCHING NOVEL RAPID ITCH RELIEF SKIN RANGE DEVELOPED AT THE NATIONAL SKIN CENTRE, SINGAPORE

Around 1 in 10 Malaysians suffer from eczema and even more shockingly 2 in 10 children. Managing the real suffering and impact on lives is incredibly challenging with no proven cure available. Suu Balm is a brand that was developed for Asia’s hot and humid weather, which soothes the nerves behind an itch, providing a simple solution to people with skin problems so that their daily lives are not interrupted by the torments of itch and dryness. Suu Balm was developed by Dr. Tey Hong Liang, a consultant dermatologist at the National Skin Centre in Singapore.

The Suu Balm Original range includes Suu Balm Rapid Itch Relieving Body Moisturiser and Suu Balm Cream Body Wash. The Suu Balm Kids range consists of Suu Balm Kids Rapid Itch Relieving Ceramide Moisturiser and Suu Balm Kids Head to Toe Body Wash.

“Most Malaysians will suffer from skin irritations at one point or another as we are exposed to hot weather all year round causing dry skin which leads to eczema, psoriasis and other skin 2 ailments. Exposure to external environments such as pollution further adds to the irritation of skin especially if one has sensitive skin. Eczema is a common itchy skin disease that typically manifests itself in red, inflamed skin that affects all age groups from adults to children.

Watsons is delighted to be the key retail partner for Suu Balm in Malaysia. In this day and age where online new “cures” are claimed every day, it is great to have a product developed and proven to work at a leading dermatology hospital over a number of years. Coming from the National Skin Centre in Singapore, there can be no doubt as to the quality of the ingredients and the performance and safety of the product. This is what our customer expects for Watsons to deliver and we are ceaseless in our search to bring products such as Suu Balm” said Caryn Loh, Managing Director of Watsons Malaysia.

During the media launch of Suu Balm, the media had an opportunity to be educated by Dr John O’Shea, Suu Balm co-founder, on what is eczema and how Suu Balm products help people with eczema get relief from itch and protect their skin. Dr John O’Shea demonstrated the Menthol, Stopwatch and Ceramide experiments to the media and how Suu Balm washes work as well. Present at the event were Dr. John O’Shea (Suu Balm co-founder), Jason Humphries (Suu Balm co-founder), Foo Hwei Jiek (Watsons Head of Trading), Shann Bong (Suu Balm Malaysia Business Manager).

“Hearing mums and dads talk about seeing their kids traumatised by constant itch is really, really hard… you can feel their pain very acutely” explains Dr John O’Shea “Then hearing how Suu Balm has helped give rapid relief and a proper night’s sleep for these poor kids (and their parents too!) gives us all at Suu Balm the drive to bring these products to even more people. What Dr Tey and the National Skin Centre have achieved with these creams and washes is incredibly impactful. Because of this key difference – real relief from itch in a couple of minutes (not hours or days), Suu Balm has been an incredible success, growing into a RM 30 million brand in less than four years in Southeast Asia.

REVAMPED SURIA KLCC SIGNATURES FOOD COURT FULLY REOPENS WITH ATTRACTIVE PROMOTIONS

When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.  More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets and 4 kiosks,
