Industry Outlook

On the economic front, Malaysia’s total rubber product exports declined by 7.9% in 2025, falling to RM21.9 billion from RM23.8 billion in 2024, mainly due to a slowdown in tyre manufacturing and exports. Despite this, latex-based products remained the largest contributor, accounting for 73% of total rubber product exports (Figure 1), while non-latex exports decreased by 3.6% to RM6.0 billion.

MRPMA also continues to support and assist members in enhancing their ESG compliance and reporting capabilities, in line with increasing global expectations.

Moving forward, MRPMA remains committed to supporting members and the broader industry through policy advocacy, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships, with the aim of achieving 3 – 5% growth. The Association looks forward to working closely with the newly elected Committee to advance these priorities and strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global rubber products market, including International Rubber Industry Convention and Expo (IRICE 2027) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 3rd to 5th August 2027 and upcoming trade missions.

MRPMA will also celebrate its 74th Anniversary Dinner on 5 June at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. The President encourages all members to attend and bring clients, staff, and friends from the industry.

In his speech, Leong highlighted that the industry is currently grappling with administrative and financial challenges due to the simultaneous rollout of e-invoicing and SST.
