Behind the Magic: Announcing the 2026 MIIP Interior Industry Awards

The wait is over. The Malaysian Interior Industry Partners Association (MIIP) has officially announced its most anticipated event of the year—the 2026 MIIP Interior Industry Awards.

Mark your calendars for October 24th, 2026, as Kuala Lumpur’s stunning Andaman Grand Ballroom transforms into a celebration of the very best in interior fit-outs, materials, and design.

More Than Just Price Competition

In an industry sometimes tempted to compete on cost alone, MIIP President Elvin Tay (郑生财) puts things into perspective:

“A strong interior industry is not built by price competition alone, but by professionalism, craftsmanship, integrity, and the courage to protect our local interior industry together.”

This Year’s Theme: Beyond the Surface

Awards Chairperson, Sean Toh (苏焕傑), explains why this year’s theme, Beyond the Surface, hits so close to home:

“Every time we step into a grand ballroom, a well-crafted restaurant, or a flagship retail space, we experience that undeniable 'wow factor.' But as industry insiders, we know that magic doesn’t happen by accident. It is the result of perfect synergy between visionary designers, excellent craftsmanship of fit-out contractors, and high-quality materials from our suppliers.”

A Legacy of Excellence Since 2014

First established in 2014, the MIIP Awards exist to recognize outstanding design, craftsmanship, and professionalism among association members. From fit-out programs and product installations to innovative material use, these awards shine a light on individuals and organizations delivering truly quality work.

This year’s competition will judge projects completed between January 2025 and 30th June 2026, with evaluations carried out by representatives from prestigious organizations.

Who Should Enter?

Whether you’re an interior fit-out contractor, material supplier, or interior designer — MIIP welcomes you to participate. It’s time to showcase your finest work.

Malaysia Heavy Construction Equipment Owners’ Association (MHCEOA): New Tax Policy must have a transition mechanism.

Leong Foo Yew, President of the Malaysia Heavy Construction Equipment Owners Association (MHCEOA), has called on the government to provide reasonable buffer periods and support measures for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) during the implementation of the e-invoice system and the Sales and Service Tax (SST). This appeal aims to alleviate the dual operational pressures faced by businesses and prevent inflationary effects in the construction sector from being passed on to consumers. The MHCEOA recently held a luncheon to celebrate its 33rd anniversary, during which the 16th term (2025–2028) council members were sworn in. In his speech, Leong highlighted that the industry is currently grappling with administrative and financial challenges due to the simultaneous rollout of e-invoicing and SST. He noted that these additional compliance burdens come at a time when SMEs are already struggling with rising labor costs, wage pressures, and regulatory expenses—pushing many into even...
