E-COMMERCE 101: A SELLER’S GUIDE TO SELLING ONLINE WITH FPX

Becoming a successful seller now made easy with online tutorials

“How do I become a seller on Shopee?”, “Is it easy to sell my things on the platform?”, “How do I boost my sales?” are some frequently asked questions by prospective and existing sellers on Shopee. Diving into e-commerce head-on can be daunting, especially into an ocean of growing online shoppers across Malaysia who are digitally-savvy and are constantly seeking convenience, fulfilment and enjoyment when shopping online.

To encourage potential business owners to start selling on Shopee, Shopee University was launched in 2016 to help them optimise and grow their business on the platform. The workshops featured three different levels - beginners, intermediate and advanced, to cater to the different expertise of sellers, from starting a business online to mastering the art of selling on the platform and more. To date, over 5,000 sellers have participated in the workshops.

In its quest to empower more Malaysians to kick-start their e-commerce journey, Shopee University is collaborating with FPX, the official online payment partner for Shopee, by launching online tutorials for sellers. As an alternative to participating in the workshops, sellers are now able to learn and gain knowledge in the comfort of their own home or even on-the-go through on-demand content.

FPX, operated by Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet), is Malaysia’s preferred online payment solution that allows customers to pay for their eCommerce purchases using funds in their current, savings and credit card accounts at 29 banks in Malaysia. For Shopee sellers, FPX payments is instant, fast and secure.

Similar to the workshops, the online tutorials will feature topics on how to get started on Shopee, FPX step-by-step guide on making payments simple and effortless for online transactions, ways to optimise the functions in Shopee, maximise online marketing, how to fulfill and deliver orders through Shopee third-party logistics partners and more. All these efforts are to aid local entrepreneurs to succeed in an increasingly mobile-centric environment. They are conducted by industry experts armed with skills and insights relevant to both beginners and experienced online sellers.

The Shopee University online tutorials will be available on the Shopee’s website from today onwards, under the Seller Centre page; one video will be uploaded every week. There are 10 videos in total.

FPX is privileged to be the preferred payment partner of Shopee. FPX provides the most cost effective and efficient means of collecting payments online. We are pleased to partner with Shopee to bring the convenience of FPX to the merchants and customers.” said Tay Gim Soon, Group Chief Operating Officer, Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Bringing together over a diverse range of sellers across Malaysia, Shopee offers an easy, secure and fuss-free retail platform to 16 million. With its integrated network of logistics partners Pos Laju and DHL eCommerce as well as AirAsia’s logistics arm RedBox for cross border delivery, products are picked up from sellers and delivered directly to buyers, making transactions more seamless and convenient for both parties. The platform also has a chat feature, enabling direct interaction between buyers and sellers. Sellers can leverage on the platform’s existing features and marketing strategies including Shopee’s Lowest Price Guaranteed (where Shopee guarantees the lowest price on the item compared to all its competitors), free shipping programme and Super Brand Day (Shopee partners with various international and local brands and retailers to curate co-branded marketing campaigns) as well as key and thematic campaigns like Shopee 11.11 Big Sale in November 2018, Shopee’s Kongsi Fa Cai celebration as well as the upcoming Shopee for Men campaign.

Through Shopee University, we guide sellers, provide insight on latest industry trends, plus exclusive access to our latest features, product updates and promotions as we strive to create a safe community for both shoppers and sellers. Together with FPX, we have made it accessible for existing and potential sellers to start selling effectively through upskilling using the online tutorials. Initiatives like these are in line with our brand’s long-term strategy to empower more Malaysians to capitalise on the booming e-commerce trend including driving the spirit of entrepreneurship to benefit and bring improvement to the lives of those within the B40 (low-income) group by having multiple streams of income. This is also in support of the nation’s economic agenda in creating a conducive entrepreneurship ecosystem to create entrepreneurs who will bring about transformative change to the various sectors and communities that they are in,” said Esten Mok, Head of Operations, Shopee Malaysia.

Shopee can be downloaded for free on all mobile platforms via Apple App Store and Google

REVAMPED SURIA KLCC SIGNATURES FOOD COURT FULLY REOPENS WITH ATTRACTIVE PROMOTIONS

When is a food court more than just a mere food court? The answer: When it is designed and constructed according to the best practices that ensures hygiene and unbeatable customer experience, but also incorporate the new norms brought about by Covid-19. This is the philosophy of Suria KLCC’s Signatures Food Court, which is completely new, enlarged, and made safer, all at the same time.  The “original” food court dates to 1998, when the mall opened its doors for business. The last major renovation was in 2005 with extra seating added in 2015 bringing the capacity to 1200. The latest redevelopment, which incorporates the space formerly occupied by Parkson, the total number of seats were increased to over 1,500 but still leaves customers with more elbow room as it considers the need for adequate physical distancing.  More space for distancing is just part of the picture, as the overall dining experience has been upped several notches. For example, from 22 food court outlets...
