EcoWorld Malaysia scores win at United Nations Global Compact Malaysia & Brunei Sustainability Performance Awards

Eco World Development Group Berhad [EcoWorld Malaysia] was conferred the SDG Ambition Benchmark 2: Net-Positive Water Impacts in Water-Stressed Basins Award at the United Nations Global Compact Malaysia & Brunei's (UNGCMYB) inaugural Sustainability Performance Awards 2021. Deputy Chief Executive Officer of EcoWorld Malaysia, Dato’ Seri S. Rajoo accepted the award from Bursa Malaysia CEO Muhamad Umar Swift at the ceremony held yesterday.

EcoWorld’s win was in recognition of its water conservation efforts by the Group’s Landscape department, where water collected from detention ponds within individual projects is utilised to water the grass, plants and foliage as an alternative to using treated water. For the three years from 2019 to 2021, the estimated total conservation on treated water usage through this initiative is approximately 180,000 m3.
