Digi expands ultra-fast, unlimited fibre broadband coverage to 3.7 million households nationwide

Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) today announced that it is expanding its ultra-fast and unlimited Digi Fibre Broadband service to serve 3.7 million households nationwide, making it one of the largest home fibre providers in Malaysia. This expansion follows Digi’s official entry into the fibre broadband space earlier in July this year with the introduction of its new range of Digi Internet Freedom plans.

Digi’s Chief Marketing Officer, Praveen Rajan said that the move to expand Digi Fibre Broadband nationwide signified the company’s continued focus to be a trusted provider of Internet services. “We are excited to bring fibre connectivity to all parts of Malaysia starting today, made possible through the strategic industry collaborations we have worked to forge over the past year. Paired with our mobile connectivity footprint, we now have the largest internet network2 in Malaysia to better serve our customers with a full range of quality connectivity services in and outside the home. What is important to note today is that, based on customer feedback, we have introduced two new standalone fibre plans to ensure all user segments are appropriately served. And, that we have enhanced our fibre and postpaid bundle offer with greater savings to help households reduce their overall spend given the tough economic situation we find ourselves in. With these enhancements, customers can continue to rely on Digi for their home and on-the-go connectivity needs.”

Enhanced range of ultra-fast, unlimited fibre broadband plans

The two new additional Digi Fibre Broadband plans are DIF 90, an entry level plan that comes with 50Mbps and DIF 270 with 800Mbps speeds. With more price points and speed options, these enhanced Digi Fibre Broadband plans give customers the flexibility to choose what suits their internet usage needs and household budget, as well as upgrade their plans at any point of time to enjoy an endless streaming, gaming, and downloading experience.

Unlock up to RM165 savings every month when combined with Digi Postpaid Unlimited

Customers automatically unlock savings of up to RM165/month when they pair any fibre plans starting from DIF 130 with Digi Postpaid Unlimited, a high-speed postpaid plan exclusive to Digi Fibre Broadband, at only RM60 per line/month3.

For example, customers with a household of two will only need to pay RM250 per month when they sign up and pair the DIF 130 plan (with speeds of 100Mbps) with two high-speed postpaid unlimited mobile lines. They will also enjoy 12 months of Viu Premium Access complementary from Digi as part of this unlimited bundle. In total, customers will save approximately RM1,980 over 24 months or RM83 per month.

Digi Internet Freedom also offers a plan for the budget-conscious, where they can opt for the entry level bundle priced only at RM128/month, by pairing the DIF 90 plan (with speeds of 50Mbps) with Digi Postpaid 38.

Customers will also receive added convenience with a single bill that reflects both their fibre broadband and postpaid unlimited subscriptions. This enables them to pay their bills with just a single tap of a button via the MyDigi app, while gaining additional rewards at the same time.

Malaysia Heavy Construction Equipment Owners’ Association (MHCEOA): New Tax Policy must have a transition mechanism.

Leong Foo Yew, President of the Malaysia Heavy Construction Equipment Owners Association (MHCEOA), has called on the government to provide reasonable buffer periods and support measures for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) during the implementation of the e-invoice system and the Sales and Service Tax (SST). This appeal aims to alleviate the dual operational pressures faced by businesses and prevent inflationary effects in the construction sector from being passed on to consumers. The MHCEOA recently held a luncheon to celebrate its 33rd anniversary, during which the 16th term (2025–2028) council members were sworn in. In his speech, Leong highlighted that the industry is currently grappling with administrative and financial challenges due to the simultaneous rollout of e-invoicing and SST. He noted that these additional compliance burdens come at a time when SMEs are already struggling with rising labor costs, wage pressures, and regulatory expenses—pushing many into even...
