In line with its commitment to continuously innovate, pioneer,
and provide audiences enriching cinema experiences, Malaysia’s leading cinema exhibitor,
Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) has formally launched the country’s first 270-degree theatre
experience, ScreenX. Now available exclusively at its flagship theatre in 1 Utama Shopping
Centre, Petaling Jaya, this new theatre experience promises audiences a new dimension of
terror, just in time for their return to the town of Derry in IT CHAPTER TWO.
A premium, panoramic cinema experience, ScreenX utilizes a proprietary system to expand
key scenes throughout the movie onto the left and right-side walls of the auditorium. This
enhances the atmospheric tones of films, such as the chilling scenes in IT CHAPTER TWO,
and gives filmmakers a new way to tell their stories.
ScreenX is now available exclusively at GSC’s flagship theatre in 1Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya. Thenew theatre delivers a 270-degree panoramic view, and GSC is the first cinema in Malaysia to offer movie-goers this revolutionary movie experience.
Besides the 270-degree screen format, GSC’s ScreenX hall also features eco-leather seating
that is plusher and more comfortable than a regular hall. Tickets to ScreenX is priced at
RM29.
“We are proud to be the first cinema in Malaysia to offer movie-goers this revolutionary movie
experience, which redefines what it is like to watch a film in the theatre.
The response we
have received to ScreenX since we opened the hall has been extremely positive and we are
sure that it will continue to excite audiences with its immersive format, which complements
our other next-generation cinema technologies,” said Heng Beng Fatt, Deputy General
Manager, Golden Screen Cinemas.
“ScreenX is a brand-new kind of cinematic experience and we are delighted to bring this
game-changing technology to Malaysia through our partnership with Golden Screen
Cinemas. This innovative technology allows the audience to go beyond the frame of the
traditional movie screen, and we believe our alliance will provide opportunities to
revolutionize the cinematic landscape of Malaysia,” said JongRyul Kim, Chief Executive
Officer of CJ 4DPLEX.
