AMBER CHIA ACADEMY GRADUATION SHOW 2019

Returning to 1 Utama Shopping Centre once again after having its inaugural graduation show here back in April 2011, acclaimed fashion and beauty school Amber Chia Academy (ACA) celebrated its ninth edition in conjunction with the mall’s “Style At One 2019” Fashion Week festivities, which saw more than 100 students graduate from the categories of adult modelling, teen modelling, kid modelling, makeup as well as hair styling, in front of over 300 guests.

Consecutively presented by Amber Chia Mesmerized by Pensonic once more, the ACA Graduation Show 2019 was hosted by emcees Dennis Yin and Shannen Totten. This grand affair, following its annual tradition, signified the end of their professional studies and training at ACA, and offered the graduates a “real world” platform via public runway performances and stage showcases in front of a live audience, which included their families, friends, instructors, coaches, gurus, principal, alongside industry professionals and practitioners.

Joining them on stage were impressive presentations of an Avant Garde Masterpiece curated by Makeup Guru Desmond Yoi, together with Nail Art Guru Yannie Wong; as well as a Bridal Masterpiece creation by Makeup Coach Pinky Chia, which closed the creative beauty and art showcases. These contributions by their teachers served as inspiration and symbolism of support to the graduates as they prepare to pursue their respective future careers.

The past year has been one of great growth for ACA in terms of the variety of professional courses offered, and also number of new students enrolling and graduating. The academy does not only offer speciality courses on modelling (adults, teenagers, and kids), makeup and hair styling, photography, and nail art, but has now expanded to also include eyebrow embroidery as well as image consultancy certifications.

Looking back to when we first started in August 2010, we have come such a long way and I couldn’t be any more proud with the fashion and beauty school that we have grown into today. As the Principal of ACA, and also as a teacher, nothing means more to me than seeing our students graduating and succeeding. And at our ninth graduation show today, it really proves our pride and joy!” shared ACA founder and namesake Amber Chia - an international model who is a regular household name in Malaysia.

Continuing to uphold its legacy of being an #AcademyOfWinners, numerous ACA graduates have continued to add to the impressive number (over 150 and counting!) of title winners and award recipients from different modelling competitions, beauty pageants, as well as makeup contests. Recent champions varies from Miss Globe Malaysia 2018 (Chan Lee Xuan), Miss Jumbo Queen 2018 (Siti Farah binti Abdul Razak), Beauty & Makeup Fest 2018 (Annie Quah Wui Luen), Miss Tourism Pahang 2018 (Anna Jobling), to AT Star International Children Star Model Competition 2018 (Melissa Tan Jia Ying), just to name a few.

Aside from that, notable runner up placements include Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 (Frost Yaw & Lee Su Hsien), Miss World Malaysia 2018 (Kathleen Wong Shook Mun), Mister Planet Malaysia 2018 (Mutalib Mubin), Dewi Remaja 2018/2019 (Anna Jobling), AT Star International Children Star Model Competition 2019 (Akiko Leong & Ling Zhi Hui), Mrs. Chipao Malaysia 2019 (Zaizana binti Zainal Abidin), Miss Chipao Malaysia 2019 (Lim Sze Jean), among many others.

For this year’s graduating students, 15 ACA awards for outstanding performances were given out to honour top graduates from their respective fields, and the recipients were:
