Giant Ship of Prosperity Docks at twentyfive.7, Brings People Together

Approximately 3,500 visitors gathered and went on “A Journey to Prosperity” over the weekend at The Buzz.ar, twentyfive.7, bidding the Chinese New Year a bon voyage with an iconic 40-ft-long Giant Ship of Prosperity docked at the Quayside. The journey was lighted with fireworks to the delight of the community.
The Giant Ship of Prosperity will dock at twentyfive.7 until end of March.

Depicting the Chinese Treasure Ship steered by the explorer Zheng He from early Ming’s Dynasty, the Giant Ship of Prosperity was the first to meet one’s eyes upon arrival, imploring visitors to take out their mobile phones to snap pictures.

The Buzz.ar at twentyfive.7 is part of Gamuda Land’s newly rolled out placemaking initiative to reinvent public spaces into usable community places to bring people together.

“At Gamuda Land, we believe that the common ground for a town is the community, where people know one another, live and play together and look out for one another. Placemaking events of this scale bring people from the local community as well as greater Klang Valley together in a fun-filled Instagrammable setting. Whether it is a group of strangers, neighbours, close friends or families, such memorable experience creates a platform for people to form a stronger community bond. Ultimately a community that looks out for each other is a good community,” said Chu Wai Lune, General Manager of twentyfive.7, adding that a good township stretches beyond a roof over a head, also a place that keeps one looking out for another.
With lots of grub from pop-up food vendors, The Buzz.ar encourages community interaction

Developing thoughtful relationships among people in each of their townships through activation of public spaces into community spaces is what inspired Gamuda Land to venture into placemaking. While all Gamuda Land developments consist of community spaces within its masterplan, Chu explained that placemaking initiatives inject a breath of excitement into these spaces in hopes of reaching out and engaging with residents, as well as bringing the wider communities together.

Due to the good response received over the weekend, Gamuda Land has extended the docking period for The Giant Ship of Prosperity until the end of March. A social media contest encouraging people to snap pictures of themselves with the Giant Ship of Prosperity, post it on Facebook or Instagram and hashtag: #twentyfive7 #gamudaland #ajourneytoprosperity2019. Winners will stand a chance to win a grand prize of RM3,000.

Bringing people together
These interesting placemaking activities were made possible with the design of twentyfive.7 that embodies Gamuda Land’s development principle of “Getting the places right makes the town work”.

“When we mindfully masterplan our townships and placing the right components be it the park place, play place, work place, learning place, shopping place – and all of these comes together harmoniously, our town works,” Chu explained.

The Buzz.ar includes the other community places at twentyfive.7 include The Lake, The Loop and The Field.

The community places are shaped around The Lake, a playful waterscape with a musical water fountain called Aurora Rhythms to be installed by May. Encircling the rippling and tuneful lake is The Loop, a 600m pet friendly circuit for jogging or cycling. Adjacent to The Lake is a hangout hot spot with eateries such as Heritage Nyonya Cuisine Restaurant, the café Marc et Farid Patisserie and premium pet care centre FURIIstyle, as well as an open space to host the renowned Quayside Fiesta and other long-term community activities such as potlucks and family games with striking giant chess and Jenga pieces. The Field is an open plot in The Buzz.ar where Football Talent Asia (FTA) plans to operate a football field and three futsal courts.

FTA is a professional Malaysian football academy that runs multiple programmes in the Klang Valley, including school football programmes, senior state league teams and a number of tournaments. This will provide Kota Kemuning with a platform for footballers to play, learn and have a good time, alongside the goal of football youth development.

“With mindful planning done right, when people begin to move in, they’ll experience a real difference. They’ll get a feel for the place and want to be a part of it and that is our aspiration as a responsible town-maker,” says Chu, concluding that placemaking is about creating a point of differentiation for the community in every township.

Malaysia Heavy Construction Equipment Owners’ Association (MHCEOA): New Tax Policy must have a transition mechanism.

Leong Foo Yew, President of the Malaysia Heavy Construction Equipment Owners Association (MHCEOA), has called on the government to provide reasonable buffer periods and support measures for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) during the implementation of the e-invoice system and the Sales and Service Tax (SST). This appeal aims to alleviate the dual operational pressures faced by businesses and prevent inflationary effects in the construction sector from being passed on to consumers. The MHCEOA recently held a luncheon to celebrate its 33rd anniversary, during which the 16th term (2025–2028) council members were sworn in. In his speech, Leong highlighted that the industry is currently grappling with administrative and financial challenges due to the simultaneous rollout of e-invoicing and SST. He noted that these additional compliance burdens come at a time when SMEs are already struggling with rising labor costs, wage pressures, and regulatory expenses—pushing many into even...
