Declaring the World of AQUOS 8K is here, SHARP unveils ASEAN’s first 8K TV for consumer market

Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (SEM) unveiled its first AQUOS 8K TV lineup AX1 Series with Real 8K Resolution panel (7,680 x 4,320), the highest resolution to be seen in the whole TV category. It is the first 8K TV that is commercially available in ASEAN  market.

Sharp touts its full AQUOS 8K TV line-up that comes with the highest processing engine as the first step to shape an 8K world. This 8K range is available in three large screen sizes - 60”, 70”, and 80”, and will feature several top-notch technologies, including Real 8K Resolution panel made-in-Japan, Real 8K Colour and Real 8K Contrast, all creating an immersive realism in your TV viewing experience.

The high-quality Real 8K Resolution panel, has 33 million pixels, 16 times more than the resolution of Full HD, 4 times more than 4K Ultra HD. The display reproduces images at a higher resolution than the human eye can capture, allowing you to zoom in to details within an image to an extent not previously possible. All AX1 series use SHARP’s proprietary UV2A panel made in Japan while the 80” model has IGZO panel for rising sense of resolution.

The Sharp AQUOS 8K TV is also powered by Android TV operating with the latest Android TV version 8.0. Its Eilex PrismTM feature that delivers powerful sound and increases the sweet spot range, together with the uniquely shaped speakers and double subwoofer deliver natural and clear high-quality sound, which certainly further enhances the viewing experience.

For the Malaysian market, the AQUOS 8K is already available this month with suggested retail price of RM73,999 (80”), RM36,999 (70”) and RM25,999 (60”).

Besides launching the AQUOS 8K TV, Sharp also announced its Chinese New Year roadshow from January 11 to 15, taking place at the Centre Court of IOI City Mall. The roadshow, open from 10AM to 10PM daily, is organized in partnership with Harvey Norman to celebrate the Chinese New Year and to reward Malaysian consumers during this festive season.
